The other car had slowed down. And the girls in the back
started to scream. That made me grin. You see, our secret exit is secret for a
reason. It looks like a bunch of rocks with moss on them. The moss part is
true, but the rocks? Not so much.
As we passed through,
the car behind us sped up again, because they had seen us pass through safely.
And the girls had shut up, but now they were whimpering. I smile a bit bigger,
but then gave up smiling. I started to worry about my parents. What was gonna
happen to them. Were they going to be killed or what?
Then I felt a hand
on my hand. I looked over to my left and saw Joshua's hand on mine. He looked
at me and smiled, then he turned his head back to the road and put his hand
back onto the wheel. I just looked at him for a minute slightly confused, then decided
that he just was comforting me. And besides, why would he like me. I'm younger
than him, and not exactly a good choice. Someone like Kaitlyn or Taylor would
be better for him. I shook my head. Why the heck would I be thinking that? I
shook my head, again to clear it.
Soon we had reached
our hideout. This was a place we could stay for now. It was safe and only
Joshua and I ever had known about it. It had a least twenty different escape
routes. And it was both above ground, on the ground, and under the ground. Tree
house, a pile of rocks and under the rocks. We stopped.
I got out and stretched.
The other kids in the other car got out slowly. They looked at us. Then one of
them, a cute looking one came over to me. ( Sheesh. Give me a break! Gotta say
the cute looking boy part of course!)
